OUR STORY

Since 1922, the Montebello Fire Department has been protecting the life and property of the visitors and citizens of the City of Montebello. While the demands placed on the fire department have grown significantly since the department’s inception, the core values of courage, commitment, and community remain as true today as the day the department was formed.
The Montebello Fire Department is led by Fire Chief Fernando Pelaez and supported by his command staff comprised of Assistant Chief Johnson, & Battalion Chiefs Webb, Lopez, and Wilkes.

Fire Station Locations

Fire Station 55 – Headquarters

Fire Station 55,  located at 600 N. Montebello Blvd. serves as the headquarters facility for the entire Montebello Fire Department and operates a paramedic engine company and truck company out of this location. For wildland fires, a Type 3 engine, specially manufactured for these types of fires responds from this location.

  • Engine 55 staffed with 4 firefighters
    • Minimum of 2 paramedics every day
    • Call Volume: 3000 calls per year
  • Truck 55 staffed with 4 firefighters
    • Minimum of 2 paramedics every day
    • Call Volume: Over 1000 calls per year

Fire Station 56

Fire Station 56 is located at 1166 South Greenwood Ave. and operates one paramedic engine company from this fire station. Personnel from Fire Station 56 also cross-staff a State Office of Emergency Services (CAL-OES) fire engine. Fire Station 56 services the South end of the City of Montbello.

  • Engine 56 staffed with 4 firefighters
    • Minimum of 2 paramedics every day
    • Call Volume: 1600 calls per year
  • California Office of Emegency Services (Cal-OES) Engine 399
    • State sponsored resource
    • Responds to emergencies throughout the State as requested through the California Office of Emergency Services (commonly known as Cal-OES)

Fire Station 57

Fire Station 57 is located at 2950 West Via Acosta and operates one paramedic engine company from this location.

  • Engine 57 staffed with four firefighters
    • Minimum of 2 paramedics every day
    • Call Volume: 2300 calls per year
